Map intent rather than repeating keywords
Group synonyms that describe the same need. A category can support product selection, while a guide answers a broader question. Assign one main destination to each intent so pages do not repeat each other's headings and sales message.
- Identify product, category and advice intent
- Choose a primary destination
- Use supporting phrases naturally
- Consolidate pages with the same purpose
Make useful pages reachable
Navigation and contextual links should connect the homepage, topic hubs and detail pages. Use descriptive links, consistent canonical URLs and a sitemap containing the pages you want indexed. Publishing more pages does not fix inaccessible content.
- Link hubs to their detail pages
- Link products from relevant categories
- Keep URLs consistent
- Review indexing and redirect signals
Write answers that can be checked
Useful advice names its author, explains limitations and links to evidence. Product information needs clear, specific facts. There is no special AI schema that guarantees citations; structured data should match the visible page.
- Answer the question early
- Define terms clearly
- Use real examples and dated evidence
- Track enquiries as well as visibility
A common question
Does GEO require special markup?
Google says there is no special schema required for its generative AI features. Crawlable, useful content and accurate structured data remain the foundation.
