Shopify store improvements for Sydney retailers
Find the specific points where shoppers give up on your store and where staff do work the store should do, then fix them in priority order with measurements you can check yourself.
Is this the right page?
- You already sell on Shopify and have steady traffic
- Shoppers complain, abandon, or ask questions the store should answer
- Promotions, stock or orders need manual work every week
- You want someone accountable end to end, not a ticket queue
Thinking about moving platforms instead? Go to migration and integrations.
Built for merchants with a baseline to improve against
The service is designed for Sydney retailers and direct-to-consumer brands with an existing Shopify store, roughly 2,000 or more sessions a month, and a problem you can already describe: checkout complaints, a catalogue that has outgrown its navigation, a platform migration that left loose ends, or inventory mismatches that reach customers.
Traffic matters because it makes the work measurable. With a few hundred orders a month, a change to search or delivery information shows up in Shopify analytics within weeks. With ten orders a month it does not, and I would rather say so than sell a sprint you cannot evaluate.
Wholesalers and established merchants adding B2B ordering, customer accounts or subscriptions fit well too. Those features touch the same discovery, cart and admin paths, and they usually expose integration gaps that are better found before launch.
Agencies are welcome: if you run marketing for a merchant and need the technical store work done properly, I can work under your engagement or alongside it, with one accountable contact.

How an engagement runs
Qualify
A short call or email exchange: platform, traffic and order range, catalogue size, integrations, the friction you see, and any campaign deadlines or change freezes.
Review
I go through the store as a shopper and as staff. Findings are written up with screenshots, ranked, and costed as fixes.
Build and release
Sprint scope is agreed in writing. Work happens on a duplicate theme. You approve the release date.
Measure
Four weeks after release we compare Shopify analytics against the baseline and decide the next step, including stopping.
How quotes are built
The review and the sprint are packaged with a published "from" price and written inclusions and exclusions, so you know the floor before you enquire. The "from" price covers a typical store: one theme, under 5,000 SKUs, up to three sales channels and standard Shopify checkout.
Anything larger, or any work involving a migration or system integration, is quoted after a scoping session. Quotes list what is in, what is out, the assumptions I made and what would change the price. GST treatment is confirmed on the quote. Payment is 50% to book and 50% on release for sprints; the review is invoiced on delivery.
What you can check before you spend anything
The demo store shows before-and-after versions of product discovery, delivery information and checkout clarity on a phone, with the taps and screens counted for three everyday tasks. It uses fictional products and is labelled as such; I do not publish invented client results.
Once real engagements complete, I will publish case studies only with the merchant's permission and with baseline, method, result and limitations stated. Until then, the free scorecard on your own store is the most honest evidence available: you will see within two business days whether the findings are specific and useful.
Based in Sydney, working Sydney hours
I am based in Sydney and work Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Review walkthroughs and sprint kick-offs can be in person at your store or office anywhere in Sydney; the rest runs over video and screen-share. Merchants elsewhere in Australia are welcome, with the same hours and the same one-business-day reply target.
Capacity is limited because one person does the work. I take on a small number of sprints at a time so each gets proper attention, and I will tell you the next available start when you enquire rather than over-promising.
Questions buyers ask
How do you decide what to fix first?
By a simple rule: how many shoppers hit the problem, multiplied by how badly it stops them, divided by the effort to fix it. A search that returns nothing for the three most common queries beats a slightly off-brand button colour every time. The review ranks every finding this way and shows the working.
Will you break my theme?
Work happens on a duplicate of your live theme, so the store keeps trading unchanged. Every change is listed, tested on iOS and Android devices, and released at a time you choose, usually outside a promotion. If something unexpected shows up after release you can revert to the previous theme in one click, and I will have already shown you where that button is.
Do you use apps or custom code?
Whichever is cheaper to own over two years. Apps are quick but add monthly fees and script weight; custom theme code is lighter but needs maintaining. I set out both options for each fix with the ongoing cost, and I do not take referral fees from app vendors.
Can you work around our sale calendar?
Yes, and I ask about it at the first call. Promotion dates and change freezes go into the plan. A pre-peak checkout and speed check fits before a busy period; bigger structural changes and migrations fit after it.
What about our inventory and accounting systems?
They are part of the same engagement. If orders are being re-keyed or stock drifts between systems, the review covers it and the fix stays with me rather than being passed to another provider. See migration and integrations.
Are you available in person in Sydney?
Yes. I am based in Sydney and can meet at your store or office for the review walkthrough or the sprint kick-off. Everything else works well over video and screen-share, which is also how I work with interstate merchants.
